Cell Phone or Land Line?

In a life-threatening emergency where time is of the essence, it’s generally better to use a land line to call for help than a cell phone.

The reason is that with a land line the 911 operator’s system will be able to immediately identify the location of the call.  In the case of a cell phone, the system MAY be able to see the general area where the phone is located, but it is not specific.  The land line call produces an immediate address that can be used to dispatch an emergency vehicle.  This compares favorably with having to spend the time describing the location verbally using a cell phone.
